BOCA RATON, Florida - When Rich Peverley collapsed on the Dallas Stars bench on Monday night, Mathieu Schneiders mind went racing back to November 21, 2005 when Jiri Fischer suffered a similar cardiac event on the Detroit Red Wings bench. Antonio Rudiger Jersey . "That was the first thought that came into my head, flashbacks to what happened on that day," said Schneider, who was a teammate of Fischer in Detroit that season. "Hes a big man and he collapsed right on me. That was one of the scariest moments of my career. At first you had no idea what was happening but then he started convulsing, it was really scary for everyone." Its the type of situation that nobody ever anticipates, even less so amongst a group of highly conditioned athletes in peak physical condition. "It was shocking particularly because Fischer was just an incredible athlete and in amazing shape, you dont expect it," said Schneider. "Last night was another very scary incident; I got texts as soon as it happened." Fischer was stabilized that day by the heroic work of Dr. Tony Collucci who was on the scene in seconds. His proximity to the bench played a big part in contributing to a positive result. As a result, the NHL requires that doctors have immediate access to the players bench to act in the case of such events transpiring. That scenario again played a role in helping to stabilize Peverley on Monday night as doctors were on the scene in seconds, able to treat the Stars forward for what team physician Gil Salazar termed a cardiac event. "Everything played out and transpired exactly as you would draw it up and luckily we had a fortunate result," said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly. "The leagues done a great job over the years to make sure every safety net is there and available to the guys," added Schneider. "In the two instances that Ive known, the doctors have literally saved the players lives." The news of Peverleys collapse quickly reached the leagues general managers who are gathered in Boca Raton, Florida for meetings this week. "Obviously it was a scary situation," said Daly. "We were all at a general managers dinner and we were alerted immediately to the events in Dallas. A number of us left the room and were being updated on a step by step basis to what was happening." Once it became clear what had transpired, Daly explained that the decision to postpone the game came at the urging of both the Dallas Stars and their opponents, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Having gone through a similar situation himself, Schneider agreed the right decision was made. "As a player being so close to your teammates, its too taxing, its too difficult to go back and I would think youd be playing half-heartedly in a situation like that," he said. Daly explained the NHL has identified a date to reschedule the game and intend to announce it later in the week. The Blue Jackets will be allowed to maintain their 1-0 lead that they had built through the first 6:23 of the game though a fresh sixty minutes will be played when the game is made up. The NHL followed the same procedure when the Red Wings and Predators game was completed in 2006 after Fischers incident, allowing Nashville to maintain their 1-0 lead. The Predators ultimately went on to win 3-2. Custom Germany Jerseys . Tony Parker had 33 points and nine assists and San Antonio never trailed in a resounding 116-92 victory over Portland, bullying the younger Trail Blazers in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. Marco Reus Jersey . The Canadians led for much of the game before Argentina forced overtime in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter. Canada weathered the storm after squandering a lead with a series of made shots. "Its a fantastic win for our country with 11 first-time Canadian national team members," said head coach Roy Rana. DENVER -- Lance Lynn had such good stuff he could hardly be hit. Matt Adams was so dialed in at the plate he gave his pitcher all the offensive support he needed. The perfect combination for a rout and a rare Coors Field shutout. Lynn allowed three hits in eight innings and Adams provided the spark with two homers and a career-high six RBIs as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the slumping Colorado Rockies 8-0 on Monday night. Lynn (8-5) struck out seven and walked none before being taken out for the ninth after throwing 108 pitches. Its the first time Colorado has been held scoreless at home since July 2. "He was in complete control," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. Adams big night included a two-run single in the third, a solo shot in the fifth and a three-run homer in the seventh. This was the third multihomer game of his career. "Its just a continuation of how Ive felt recently," Adams said. "The big thing that Im happy about is Im laying off the sliders and the curve balls from the lefties. Im trying to make them come over the plate a little bit more instead of chasing what they want me to chase." Jhoulys Chacin (1-6) struggled with his control, allowing five runs in six innings. He also walked three and hit a batter. "Whenever you walk a lot of guys, and you dont make good pitches, especially against a team like St. Louis, youre going to pay for it," Chacin said. Corey Dickerson had two of the hits for Colorado, which has now dropped seven straight. This was the second time in five days the Rockies have been perplexed by a pitcher, with Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw throwing a no-hitter last Wednesday. Mixing a cutter with a sinker, Lynn bottled up one of the most potent lineups in the majors. He surrendered a one-out single to Dickerson in the first and then retired 16 straight until Charlie Blackmon and Dickerson had back-to-back singles in the sixth. Lynn got out of the jam by getting Troy Tulowitzki to fly out. "When you get a good, live fastball like (Lynn) had tonight, youre going to get a lot of guys out," Drrew Stubbs said. Marvin Plattenhardt Germany Jersey. "He didnt make mistakes." Randy Choate got the first two outs in the ninth and Jason Motte struck out Tulowitzki to end the game. Tulowitzki flung his bat in the air in frustration. Once again, Lynn sparkled at Coors Field. He hasnt allowed a homer at the hitter friendly park in the 77 batters hes faced spanning three starts. The right-hander was aided by some fine fielding, too, like centre fielders Jon Jays sliding grab on the warning track in the seventh on Justin Morneaus deep drive. "Thats a good hitting lineup, especially here, in their ball park, where the ball travels a little bit more," Lynn said. "But as a pitcher you cant think about it. Youve just got to try to make your pitch. "I was making good pitches and when youre doing that its a good feeling." Dickerson was the only Rockies hitter who could solve him. "I felt pretty comfortable up there," Dickerson said. "But I think righties were having a tough time picking (his fastball) up." Adams had the first six-RBI performance by a Cardinals player since David Freese on June 7, 2012, at Houston. Matt Holliday added an RBI double against his former team. For the Rockies it was another stinging defeat in a month filled with them. Theyre now 6-15 in June. "If I had an answer, if any of us did, it wouldve already happened," Stubbs said. "At some point, its got to turn around. Hopefully, its sooner rather than later." NOTES: Cards MGR Mike Matheny said LHP Marco Gonzales will make his major league debut on Wednesday.
